That’s right! The icon, the legend, the Vibratex Magic Wand, a sex toy that’s survived a rebranding, endured through nine presidencies, outlasted disco, 80’s hair bands, and dial-up internet, all, just got a glow up. Best described as the hybrid offspring of the original Magic Wand and the ever popular Magic Wand Rechargeable; the Magic Wand Plus, like Hanna Montana, offers us the best of both worlds.
Gone is the OG Magic Wand’s questionable, porous Tpr head, along with its archaic and highly restrictive two speeds, and the outdated control-switch. The Magic Wand Plus, like the earlier Rechargeable rendition of this wand, has been revamped with a modernized silicone head, a separate silicone coated on/off button, and four, count ’em four, vibration speeds.
At a glance, the Magic Wand Plus is nearly indistinguishable from the Magic Wand Rechargeable. Even when actively comparing the two during testing, I discovered that if I closed my eyes, I genuinely couldn’t tell the difference between the two of them. They both bring their A-game.
Me, even being the self-declared power fiend that I am, hardly ever venture beyond the third-speed. Aside from the handful of times, I dared to during my testing sessions. The truth is, I rarely use the fourth setting on my genitals. On my achy muscles a time or three? Sure, and lemme tell’ya something, it works like a charm. But for masturbatory purposes, I regard the fourth setting to be overkill and find it’s just way too extra for my pinpoint leaning clit to endure.
So what does a pinpoint girl, like myself, do to make broad stim wands a more palatable undertaking? Easy, I use inexpensive silicone wand attachments. That’s the beauty of wands, you see. You can be adventurous and try an assortment of silicone attachments. And to tell the truth, you can do so at a fraction of the cost of investing in multiple silicone toys. A few of my favorites are the Flutter Tip and Nuzzle tip by Wand Essentials. Oh, and don’t forget the truly magical Vixen Creations Gee-Whizzard.
On the whole, I’d say the Magic Wand Plus has way more in common with the Magic Wand Rechargeable. The most significant distinction between the two is that the Magic Wand Plus is a corded wand and must stay plugged in during use. Let me make this crystal clear, the Magic Wand Plus is not cordless, nor is it rechargeable.
While I’ve invariably regarded being tethered to a power outlet a hindrance to my freedom and sexual spontaneity, there is upside to the Magic Wand Plus’s be-corded nature. Its cord can, at least, be removed to make storing this large toy easier.
If the thought of a detachable cord has you envisioning untimely interruptions, caused by you or your partner inadvertently pulling the cord from the power outlet. Never fear, the Magic Wand Plus’s six-foot long cord has a locking mechanism. Yep, there is a small button that must be depressed to eject the cord from the wand.
Aside from the changing out the Tpr head, with a silicone one, and overhauling the buttons, most of the Magic Wand Plus’s design aesthetic remains unchanged. I guess part of the Magic Wand’s charm is its trademark utilitarian white plastic body, with blue accents. A look we’ve all grown accustomed to over the years and now immediately associate with the Magic Wand brand.
I’d kill for a new limited color wave edition of the Magic Wand. Yet, I understand why Vibratex keeps with its branded colors. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. The Magic Wand Plus performs well enough that it can stand on its own merits. It doesn’t need gimmicky, limited editions.
Here’s the skinny, the Magic Wand Plus is the perfect co-mingling of the OG Magic Wand, and the Magic Wand Rechargeable, a beautiful lovechild. Which makes it the ideal entry-level Magic Wand. A clear-cut choice for those of you who have been on the fence about buying the OG Magic Wand due to its outmoded Tpr head and its insufficient number of speeds, and on the flip side of that are still hard-pressed to spend such a huge chunk of change on the Rechargeable. Here’s the answer, the Magic Wand Plus.
