I haven’t run across a bullet vibrator yet, that I wasn’t, at least, somewhat curious about trying. Besides, of course, that generic species of lame-old watch-battery bullets. (FYI: If you’ve tried one of those, you’ve tried them all. And if you haven’t tried one yet, trust me, you’re not missing out on anything.) I’m not entirely sure, where along the lines, this became a mission. But I do know, that it sparked from a deep-seated urge to weigh every bullet vibrator I can lay hands on against the, as yet, unrivaled faculties of the We-Vibe Tango.

Obviously, this is not humanly possible, but I’ll damn sure, give it my best shot trying.

Nu Sensuelle Power Plus

What started as only a fleeting urge, has since nearly developed into a full-blown compulsion. Nowadays, when I see a pic of a new bullet vibrator on my Instagram or Twitter feed I instantly feel compelled to get it and judge it against the famous Tango.

So, to scratch this nagging itch of mine, and hopefully help you in making informed decisions when shopping for sex toys, I have a new bullet vibrator that I want to acquaint you with.

It’s the Nu Sensuelle Point Plus, an impressively effective and sensibly priced little number. Straight away, I applaud Nu Sensuelle for offering up some “out of the box” color options. Options which include the virtually unheard of shade, (I mean as far as sex toys go,) Matte Navy Blue. Now there’s something you don’t see every day, folks. Light or medium blue is hard enough to come by when it comes to sex toys but finding a Navy Blue toy, that’s like coming across a super-rare Pokemon out in the wild.

Nu Sensuelle must not have gotten the memo. Surely they must know, by now, that all vibrators are mandated to come in some variation of pink or purple. Or the pink-obsessed, targeted demographic simply won’t want to buy them, nor want to smash them against their genitals.

That was sarcasm, just in case, it wasn’t blatantly clear already.

Do you know what’s even better than matte Navy Blue, though? Well, that would be a chrome-finished, Metallic-Rose Gold. Which, just so happens to be the color I chose, and that I instantly adored the minute I got it out of the box. The only downside being that Rose-Gold is the only color option, that isn’t glazed in a double-layer of body-safe silicone.

I also hold reservations that the metallic finish could potentially start to flake, at some point in the future after extended usage. We’ve seen it happen with other faux metallic toys. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know, until it happens. But if it were to happen, I will be sure to update this review with my findings.

In the case of The Power Plus’s metallic variant, I imagine it was necessary for the ABS plastic to be left bare in order to apply the faux metallic finish. That makes sense.

And this is precisely why the Point Power’s two textured-silicone sleeves became so advantageous for me. While they’re clearly not suited for everyone’s tastes, and most assuredly not befitted for the more sensitive among the group. Myself, as a fan of hyper-textured sex toys, believe the silicone sleeves to be the icing on top of the cake. I’m honestly surprised other sex toy brands haven’t come up with comparable add-ons for their own bullet vibrators. It’s such a simple concept and gives any boring, plain vanilla bullet vibrator fun new options for the user to sample and play around with.

I savored each of one the tactile differences I discerned when switching between the two very distinct textures. I enjoyed comparing them against the smooth surface of the vibrator when I used it without the sleeves. I, also, happily discovered despite size differences, the silicone sleeve will work just as nicely pulled over the tip of either of my Nocturnal Bullet or my Tango

Like most Nu Sensuelle vibrators, the Point Power Plus employs a charging stand and an upright means of charging. To be sure, this method still has its kinks. For instance, you must make certain the contacts on the bottom of the vibrator are resting precisely in the proper alignment with the metal points in the charging base or the toy won’t charge. Not only that, dependant upon the surface it’s placed on, the stand sometimes wants to lean, which disturbs the charging process. But even with these slightly annoying, but minor hiccups at play, this system is, by far, superior to the commonly used magnetic charging cords we still find most bullet vibrators come equipped with.

As for this vibrator’s overall performance, the Nu Sensuelle Point Plus’s seven steady speeds and thirteen patterns show evidence of an exceedingly powerful motor. And that raises another question. When will these sex toy companies recognize that absolutely NOBODY, wants or needs, all of these blasted patterns? Give me 17 steady settings and 3 patterns, then maybe I’ll be happy. Thirteen patterns seem like a bit much and an utter waste of resources, but of course, I’ve seen toys with even more.

Nu Sensuelle Power Plus

Here’s my quick and dirty assessment. I judge the Point Plus’s vibrations to be much closer to the potent, but ever-so-slightly buzzy Blush Novelties Nocturnal type of vibrations. The motor undoubtedly has an abundant supply of power, but the vibrations that it generates fail to resonate deep beneath the flesh and remain more surface-level targeted. Which after a spell, can lead to itchy and numbed genitals. These types of vibrations lie in direct opposition to the deep, profoundly thuddy rumbles of my go-to bullet, the We-Vibe Tango. Who’s vibrations reverberate deep into the subcutaneous layer and easily reach the buried structures of the clitoris.

What this all basically means is that while they are strong and orgasm-inducing, the Point Plus’s vibrations land somewhere on the buzzier side of the vibrational scale. Sadly they continue to grow buzzier as the power increases. Nevertheless, this motor is nothing to sneeze at. It unquestionably rises to meet the challenge and always gets the job done.

Another finding, worthy of mentioning, I’ve finally learned that I prefer the slanted, “lipstick inspired” tip of both, the Blush Novelties Nocturnal Bullet and the We-Vibe Tango, over the rounded end of the Point Plus. This discovery puts my mind at rest, since I’ve forever regretted missing out on the now, discontinued, critically acclaimed, legendary We-Vibe Salsa.

Nu Sensuelle Power PlusThe only noteworthy downside I’m aware of is the Point Power’s noise level. The motor is a bit on the louder side, but it’s still not as noisy as the Nocturnal Bullet and it doesn’t qualify as a deal breaker.

The Nu Sensuelle Power Plus ticks off all the relevant boxes for a toy of its class. By this, I mean it has all the features we’ve come to expect in our toys: USB rechargeability, dual-button power controls, it’s water-proof, and most importantly, it has a nice supply of powerful vibrations to offer.

The way I figure it, the Power Plus Bullet, is a solid pick and a viable Tango alternative. I see no harm in designating it as an acceptable choice for my readers.
